Today we are excited to introduce you to one of our amazing design team members, Ashley Laskowski. Her design career began at a young age, when in elementary school classmates would line up at her desk and request drawings of dinosaurs, spaceships, and kangaroos. As she got older she thought, “Hey, maybe I could get paid for this.”

From designing beer and wine labels to illustrating snowboard artwork and now creating stunning paperless stationery, Ashley is a jack-of-all-trades that we are lucky to have as part of the Greenvelope.com team!

Out of all the artistic outlets and mediums in the world, what do you find inspiring about invitations and stationery?

The diversity!  I absolutely love the fact that one day I could be working on a traditional nonprofit gala invitation with an ornate gold pattern, and the very next day I could be illustrating exotic rainforest flora for a super contemporary destination wedding invitation.  I also like the fact that stationery projects have a fairly quick turnaround time so the projects I am working on always feel fresh and exciting.

What are your favorite designs on the site right now? 

As an illustrator myself, I tend to have a bit of a soft spot for illustrated designs, and we’ve had a lot of adorable ones added to the site recently!  I especially love the illustrative work in We Knead to Party by PrettyMeJoy, and Tea Time by Alexandra Dzh.

I like ____ best about myself.

It feels really weird to say, but I think I am a pretty nice person, and I think that is the thing I like best about myself. That or the fact that I can laugh at myself – if I faceplant on the pavement outside work, I will be the first person to laugh about it.

My spirit animal is: a deer. I’d like to think it is because I am graceful, but I know it is actually because I startle easily.
